Valid Grounds for Objection (Feel free to copy, paste, but please personalise these points):

  • A Pattern of Unauthorised Development: While the enforcement notices officially name David Tyson Price and “The Occupier”, the appeal has been submitted by both Mr. Price and the landowner, Kevin Clee. It is important to note Mr. Clee’s track record of unauthorised development. He was previously removed from land in Lincoln following a Planning Inspectorate inquiry, and he similarly carried out work on a glamping site in Bewdley before seeking retrospective planning permission. This pattern of ignoring planning controls should be taken into serious consideration.
  • Harm to the Green Belt (National & Local Policy Breach): The site is located within the West Midlands Green Belt, where this type of project is considered “inappropriate development”. The applicants have failed to demonstrate any “very special circumstances” required to justify the build. The addition of caravans, extensive hard surfacing, and residential paraphernalia actively damages the rural character of the area and fails to preserve the openness of the Green Belt.
  • Overwhelming the Local Community (PPTS Policy C): Under the Planning Policy for Traveller Sites (PPTS) Policy C, sites should not dominate the nearest settled community. The proposed size of this development threatens to overwhelm the local area, which currently consists of only 36 permanent residents living across 19 properties in this specific stretch of Woodhouses.
  • Environmental Pollution & Contamination: The unapproved importation of materials to create the hard surfacing poses a direct risk of contamination and pollution to the surrounding land, surface water, and groundwater. The applicant has provided no information to show how they will mitigate dangerous runoff, leaching, or dust emissions.
  • Threat to Cannock Chase Special Area of Conservation: The development brings additional recreational pressure that will cause unacceptable harm to the integrity of the Cannock Chase Special Area of Conservation. The developers have failed to provide bespoke mitigation or financial contributions to protect this vital habitat.
  • Failure to Protect Biodiversity: The development completely fails to demonstrate that a net gain for biodiversity can be achieved, which violates local planning strategies and the National Planning Policy Framework
