The determination date for Outline Application 25/01485/OUTM (Coulter Lane) has been officially set. The Planning Committee will decide the fate of our Green Belt on Monday, 20 July 2026, at 6:00 pm at the Lichfield District Council Offices, Frog Lane, Lichfield.

The Burntwood Action Group (BAG) Strategic Policy Team is issuing an immediate mobilisation alert to all residents. The official notice from the Development Management Team explicitly states that a “limited number of seats are available in the Council Chamber and will be allocated strictly on a first come, first served basis”.
We know that because of these restrictions, many of you will not be able to get a seat inside the actual chamber. BUT THAT DOES NOT MATTER. YOU MUST TURN UP.
We need a massive, coordinated physical presence to arrive at 5:15 pm or as close to that as you can. Even if you are standing outside the building or filling the corridors, the Planning Committee must physically see the sheer scale of our opposition before they walk into that room to cast their votes. We need to provide a living, breathing manifestation of Burntwood we have already placed on the administrative record. They need to look the community in the eye.
Furthermore, we have requested that the BBC be in attendance to cover this pivotal determination. Just as they documented our historic “Burntwood 500” protest walk back on Sunday, 18th January 2026, the press is watching how Lichfield District Council handles this highly controversial application. Your presence will ensure the cameras capture the true strength of Burntwood’s resistance.
While you provide the visual opposition, the BAG Strategic Policy Team will be executing our legal strategy inside the chamber. We will be deploying strict National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) constraints directly against the developer’s narrative. We will expose the council’s administrative hypocrisy, the severe regional water supply deficit, and the absolute statutory prematurity of approving a 250-home corporate sprawl while the Local Plan is locked in a 30-month reset.
This is Day 1 of our final countdown. Every day between now and the committee meeting, we will release a new snippet of intelligence and strategy so you are fully armed with the facts.
Stand ready, Burntwood. We will see you at the Council Offices.
The Burntwood Action Group (BAG) Strategic Policy Team
