As many of you are now aware, Barratt Homes has launched a pre-application consultation for a proposed 130-dwelling development on Rugeley Road.
The Burntwood Action Group (BAG) Strategy Team has conducted an immediate review of this launch, and our directive to the community is clear: We are boycotting their private feedback forms and surveys. DO NOT complete their survey!
Why are we staying silent this time?
Previous lesson learned—private developer consultations are not designed to help the community—they are a corporate focus group. Developers want to map out our arguments early so their high-priced consultants can patch up the holes in their plans before submitting them to the council. Furthermore, they use your survey responses to tell the planning committee that they “successfully engaged” with the town.
We will not give them a free playbook, and we will not help them tick their corporate public relations boxes.
Instead, BAG has stepped forward to deliver a single, unyielding, collective response on behalf of our entire campaign network. This morning, we bypassed their generic feedback forms and sent a formal Official Position Statement directly to the lead Strategic Residential Directors at Savills Planning in Birmingham.
By acting as a unified front, we keep our specific evidence safe until their application hits the official Lichfield District Council portal, where they can no longer alter their plans to dodge our objections.

What you need to do next:
- Keep Starving Them of Data: If a flyer arrives through your door or a survey link pops up on your feed, ignore it.
- Share This Link: Copy the link to this blog post and drop it into the comments of any local Facebook threads discussing the Rugeley Road site so your neighbors know the strategy.
- Save Your Energy: We are conserving our voices for the official battle on the LDC Planning Portal when the time comes.
Our local knowledge, our unity, and our strategic discipline are what make BAG an elite campaign group. Let’s keep the gates locked.
