Have you written your objection to the Coulter Lane/Church Road development yet? NOT LONG LEFT! Do you want to make sure the Council actually HAS to listen to your points?

We are now offering a Professional Policy Mapping Service to all Burntwood residents.

How it works: Don’t worry about the legal jargon—that’s our job. You tell us why you care, and we will bridge the gap to the legal framework.

Write your objection: Give us 3, 4, 10+ paragraphs in your own words. Tell us how it affects your home, your walk, the traffic you see, or the wildlife in your garden.

Keep it personal: It is vital that every letter is unique to you (the Council ignores “template” letters!).

The BAG Polish: Our Strategic Policy Team will take your personal concerns and map them against the NPPF 2026 legal framework, the Golden Rules, and the Heritage protections.

How to get started:
📧 Email: burntwoodactiongroup@icloud.com
Subject: Objection Support
Include: Your Name, Address, and your draft paragraphs.

Our team will respond with a strengthened, technically-backed letter ready for you to send to the Council. Let’s make sure Burntwood’s voice is unignorable! 👊

We are concerned about this development for several reasons, the most important ones being as follows.

    1. The lanes from the proposed development are narrow and surfaces are already poor. Potentially, each new house built means the possibility of two or more extra vehicles adding to the already overused rural lanes. We, personally have seen the volume of traffic increased enormously over the years with it being used as the ‘Lichfield Western Bypass’.
    2. The danger for Horses and riders by motorists who have no respect for those who should be able to enjoy the rural country lanes on horseback peacefully and without harassment from speeding, impatient and rude motorists.
    3. Danger to wildlife and environment. The lanes are narrow, road edges and grassy banks are constantly being eroded by already excessive traffic in both directions. There are many badgers, rabbits and muntjac that have lost their lives where we live on what was once a quiet country lane and will, no doubt become even more busy.
    4. Parents with chiidren, hikers and cyclists regularly use these narrow country lanes. Increased traffic poses a threat with a 60mph National Speed limit.

I strongly object to the plans for homes to be built in Church Road/Coulter Lane. Primarily for the destruction of green belt that our wildlife is so dependant on. I regularly have muntjac deer walking at the rear of my garden. We regularly see sparrow hawks, jays, pheasants and partridges, together with frogs and toads. We have a vast array of insect life including butterflies, moths and, especially, the declining bee populations. I feed all the garden birds daily. Foxes can be seen regularly too, and bats flying around in the evening. All of this wildlife will be adversely affected by any large scale development.

Traffic travelling along Church Road is very busy and dangerous, especially at school times, when parents park to drop children off and collect from the school. If the planned houses are built, the road will be even more congested and I am not sure the schools will be able to accommodate extra children. Also during the building period the road cannot take heavy vehicles, which would bring extra pollution, noise and dust for a long period of time and potentially endanger children crossing the road.

Burntwood is primarily a commuter town with most people employed in Birmingham, Lichfield and nearby towns. The road system is already completely congested, especially at rush hours, and an addition, estimated 500 to 700 cars will bring the system to a complete standstill.

Local amenities are already severely overstretched with doctor’s surgeries unable to cope with the current population.

Burntwood is unable to accommodate any further major development and any such proposals should be blocked until the infrastructure is significantly improved.

Is it very coincidental that Bloor Homes have moved their headquarters to Lichfield and are sponsoring local events is it an attempt to win over local councillors?
