It’s been a massive week for the Burntwood Action Group, and we’ve been working overtime to ensure the Planning Portal is hit with the hard TRUTH. Here is the latest from the front lines:

1. THE HIGHWAYS “SMOKING GUN” 🚗🚫
National Highways have come back with a “No Objection,” but we’ve caught them out! In their own report, they ADMITted they ignored existing peak-hour traffic delays on the A5. We’ve filed a formal rebuttal telling the Council: “You cannot approve 250 houses based on a traffic model that ignores the gridlock we live in every day!”

2. THE FLOOD RISK ADMISSION 🌊🏠
The Flood Officers (LLFA) have finally admitted what we all know: there are official records of INTERNAL property flooding near this site. They are now forcing Bloor Homes to prove they can soak up water on a marsh (The Fulfen). We are demanding these tests happen NOW, not later. You can’t build on a natural drain and hope for the best! 🌾⛈️

3. “MEASURING FOR THE CURTAINS” 📏🏠🤥
You might have seen the high-vis teams on Church Road this week. Bloor Homes is already out doing “Topographical Surveys.” They are acting like this is a done deal—but we have a message for them: Engineering can’t fix a bad location. If they can’t even model traffic accurately, why should we trust their “marsh-mapping”?

4. THE NATIONAL “DECLARATION OF WAR” 🏛️✊
We aren’t alone! National news (Sky News) is reporting a “Declaration of War” as councils across the UK stand up to protect their Green Belt. We’ve told Lichfield District Council: “Be a leader, not a follower. Stand with the resistance and protect Burntwood!”

5. THE TRIPLE THREAT IS REAL 🏠🏠🏠🟰🛑
We have officially linked Coulter Lane to the other massive applications at Highfields Road and Rake Hill. That’s 1,000 NEW HOMES all trying to use the same doctors, schools, and narrow lanes. The Council MUST look at the cumulative impact!

OUR MOVE: We have submitted further strategic objections to the Case Officer. We are using the government’s own “Stage 2” rules to prove this site is UNSUITABLE, UNACHIEVABLE, and PREMATURE.

THE MISSION: Keep the pressure on! Tag Dave Robertson MP and your Ward Councillors. Remind them that we are watching, we are organised, and we are not going away.
