This marks a milestone in our fight to save the Green Belt. We have officially submitted our Master Objection Letter to Lichfield District Council.
This isn’t just a letter of protest; it is a 100% evidence-based technical rebuttal to Bloor Homes’ speculative proposal for Coulter Lane. While the developer has their paid consultants, we have something more powerful: The Truth. Through the combined efforts of the Burntwood Action Group (BAG) and hundreds of local residents, we have compiled a document that highlights the severe, unmitigated risks this development poses to our community.
The “Red Line” Issues
We have structured this objection to hit the Planning Department where it counts. Our primary argument—and our strongest legal hook—is the protection of the Fulfen Hamlet.
Building a high-density modern estate here is an act of planning vandalism against an ancient “islet” of Burntwood history. From the Francis Barber legacy to the setting of Christ Church, we are standing up for the heritage that defines us.
But we didn’t stop there. Our Master Objection provides evidence of:
- Infrastructure Collapse
- Highway Hazards
- The Utility Crisis
- Environmental Harm: Rebutting the “Grey Belt” myth with proof of breeding Lapwings and thriving local wildlife.

We believe in transparency. We want every resident to see exactly how we are fighting for you. Below, you will find the full Master Objection, including all technical appendices.
Grab a coffee (or two)—it’s a long read, but it covers every square inch of why this is the Wrong Place at the Wrong Time.
What Happens Next?
Now that the Master Objection is in, the ball is in the Council’s court. However, the pressure must not stop. If you haven’t already filed your individual objection on the Planning Portal, please use the points in our letter to help frame your own response. Use our Objection Service and we will take your paragraphs and our Strategic Policy Team will map them to technical arguements.
Every single voice is a separate data point that the Planning Committee must consider.
Thank you for your evidence, your photos, and your unwavering support. Let’s protect our Green Belt. Let’s save Burntwood.
