Transparency, Evidence, and Truth: Explore the BAG Strategic Archive
For months, the Burntwood Action Group (BAG) has been working behind the scenes to challenge the Bloor Homes Coulter Lane proposal. While our Facebook page is the heart of our community updates, our Strategic Policy Team has been the “engine room”—diving into planning law, scouring heritage records, and challenging utility companies on the technical viability of this build.
Today, we are opening those files to the public.
Why are we doing this?
Planning isn’t just about opinions; it’s about evidence. Whether it is the fragility of our water mains, the historical legacy of the Christ Church cluster, or the “severe” impact on our road network, we have been building a “Dossier of Evidence” that Lichfield District Council cannot ignore.
What you will find in the Archive:
We have organized our official correspondence into key categories so you can see exactly where the battle lines are drawn:
- The Utility Crisis: Read our formal inquiries to Severn Trent Water regarding sewage capacity and the recent wave of water main bursts.
- Heritage & Identity: See how we are protecting the legacy of Francis Barber and the setting of Christ Church from being erased by urban sprawl.
- Infrastructure & Highways: Explore our challenges to the developer’s traffic models—the 624,000 annual vehicle movements they didn’t want to talk about.
- Biodiversity & The Green Belt: Evidence of why this is high-performing habitat for Barn Owls, Lapwings, and Choughs, not “Grey Belt.”
A Note on Accountability
By making these documents public, we are ensuring that Lichfield District Council is held to account. They now know that the community is watching every response they give—or don’t give.
The developer has a team of expensive consultants. Burntwood has us.
