Marty, a local Burntwood resident, recently took a powerful stand for our community at the Lichfield Proms. Amidst the music and festivities, he made sure one of our green belt signs was with him. The sign was a clear, visible sign of the ongoing fight to protect our precious green spaces.

The event, which drew a large crowd from across the region, highlighted a clear conflict of interest for many Burntwood residents. The main sponsor for the Lichfield Proms was none other than Bloor Homes. For many of us, this felt like a slap in the face. It’s the same company that is aggressively trying to build on Burntwood’s Green Fields on Green Belt land.
Marty’s simple but impactful action of bringing the flag served as a silent protest, showing that our community’s concerns about development on the green belt are not going away. It’s a reminder that even at a fun community event, the fight to protect our local environment is a constant presence.
We want to thank Marty for his commitment and for ensuring our message was seen. It’s through actions like these that we continue to raise awareness and stand together against development that threatens the character of our area.
