This year marks a particularly special anniversary for the UK, and in Burntwood, we’re making sure it’s not forgotten. The 80th anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day) on August 15th is a poignant reminder of the end of World War II and the immense sacrifice of those who fought in the Far East.

To honour this important milestone, the Burntwood Action Group (BAG) has beautifully decorated Prince’s Park, the smallest park in Europe. The display, which will remain throughout August, is a tribute to the bravery and resilience of the service members who secured peace.
A Continuing Fight to Protect Our Heritage
While we take this time to reflect on the past, we also remain focused on the future of our beloved park. The fight to protect and preserve Prince’s Park from developer Bloor Homes is ongoing.
Our local heritage is a vital part of our community’s identity, and we’re committed to ensuring it’s not lost. We need your support more than ever.
You can help us in our pursuit to save Prince’s Park by displaying ‘wrong time wrong place’ signs and showing your solidarity with BAG. Let’s work together to protect this special place for future generations.
